Role Description The Process Engineer – Confectionery is responsible for designing, optimizing, and supporting manufacturing processes specific to confectionery products such as chocolates, candies, gums, and jellies. This role ensures consistent product quality, efficient operations, and compliance with food safety standards while supporting innovation and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Develop and optimize process parameters for confectionery production including mixing, cooking, tempering, molding, cooling, and packaging. Collaborate with R&D and production teams to scale up new confectionery products from pilot to commercial scale. Analyze process data to identify inefficiencies, reduce waste, and improve yield, texture, and shelf life. Support commissioning and validation of new equipment and production lines. Ensure compliance with food safety (HACCP), GMP, and hygiene standards in all process designs and operations. Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations and implement corrective/preventive actions. Maintain and update process documentation including SOPs, P&IDs, and control strategies. Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and statistical process control (SPC) methodologies. 📚 Qualifications & Skills Education Bachelor’s degree in Food, Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering Experience 3–6 years in process engineering within confectionery or related food manufacturing Tools Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, and process simulation tools; exposure to MES/SCADA systems is a plus Certifications HACCP, Lean Six Sigma, or ISO 22000 preferred Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, hands-on technical ability, and cross-functional collaboration Salary 30 LPA Location Bangalore 🤝 Key Interfaces Production & Operations R&D and Product Development Quality Assurance & Food Safety Maintenance & Utilities Equipment Vendors & Contractors 🚀 Success Metrics Improved process efficiency and product consistency Reduced downtime, waste, and rework Successful scale-up of new confectionery products Compliance with food safety and regulatory standards
