As a Refractory Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to conduct regular reliability surveys to monitor the health of Refractory Lining. During shutdowns, you will perform inspections of the Refractory lining, document observations, and provide recommendations for maintenance. You will be tasked with monitoring day-to-day Refractory activities to ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with standards, specifications, and procedures. It will be essential to closely monitor quality checkpoints, safety aspects, and ensure timely completion of projects. Preparation of Management Information System (MIS) reports summarizing Refractory activities will be part of your routine tasks. Additionally, you will review contractors" efforts, assess required resources, and provide recommendations for improvements as needed. Your role will involve managing turnarounds effectively and publishing technical procedures related to Refractory Inspection & Maintenance such as Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMPs) and Standard Inspection Procedures (SIPs). You will also be responsible for evaluating technical offers from vendors, creating a historical database of Refractory materials, and ensuring compliance with MIQA requirements. Adherence to heat-up & dry-out schedules, coordination with external agencies during shutdowns, estimating resource requirements, and overseeing proper data entry in SAP-PM for compliance purposes will be crucial aspects of your job. Visual inspection of Refractories upon receipt of materials at stores and participation in reliability studies are also expected. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Ceramic or Civil Engineering. Ideally, you should have 1 to 6 years of experience in a chemical, petrochemical, or refinery organization. Hands-on experience in Maintenance, Reliability analysis, Root Cause Analysis, and familiarity with standard applications is required.
