Business Sector : Port Job Purpose: To supervise and coordinate the operational control, monitoring, and handling of refrigerated (reefer) containers at the terminal to ensure proper temperature management, timely plugging/unplugging, fault handling, and compliance with shipping line requirements while maintaining safety and efficiency. Key Accountability : Reefer Plugging/Unplugging Management Temperature & Alarm Monitoring Documentation & Reporting Equipment & Infrastructure Readiness Communication & Coordination Compliance & Safety Supervise, advice and guidance to the Reefer Technicians (shift team) Major Activities : Supervise and ensure timely and correct plugging/unplugging of reefer containers as per allocation sheet. Supervise and ensure timely recording of temperature logs, reefer alarms, and ensure corrective actions in coordination with Shipping lines and Reefer Technicians Maintain records of reefer movement, plugging/unplugging times, fault reports, and shift-wise temperature logs. Ensure reefer racks, sockets, and power infrastructure are functional, report defects promptly to engineering. Coordinate with yard planners, RTG/QC teams, surveyors, and reefer technicians for efficient operations. Enforce PPE usage, terminal safety protocols, and reefer handling SOPs for team and visiting staff. Guide reefer technicians , assign tasks, conduct shift change briefings, and ensure HOT SEAT relieving. Detailed Accountability : Conduct pre-shift briefings of reefer technicians and communicate shift priorities. Allocate reefer yard task to reefer technicians. Coordinate with operations tower control team and planning for updated reefer allocations and container moves. Ensured that reefer technicians team shall verify correct container numbers and temperature set points before plugging. Ensured that all reefer containers monitoring shall be done in prescribed timings (Every 4 hours) Escalate any equipment-related faults to engineering and follow up for quick resolution. Maintain and circulate reefer monitoring reports and exception logs. Supervise reefer technicians activities and ensure proper documentation is completed each shift. Ensure reefer alarms are identified and acted upon immediately by mail to documentation team as well as to concern shipping line. Ensured that Permit to work compliance shall properly follow at reefer yard. Education Qualifications / Background : Any Graduate; Diploma in Electrical / ITI Relevant and Total Years of Experience : 3-5 years in reefer operations at port/CFS/yard environment. Technical/Functional Expertise: Knowledge of reefer equipment, temperature setting for all types of cargo
