As a General Duty Assistant at Brain and Spine Medicity in Kannur, you will be an essential part of the Neuro rehabilitation department, providing patient care assistance and basic nursing support. Your responsibilities will include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility. You will also help patients move in and out of beds, wheelchairs, or stretchers. In addition to patient care, you will be responsible for monitoring and recording vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure. It will be crucial for you to report any changes in patient condition to the nursing staff promptly. Maintaining cleanliness in patient rooms, beds, and surroundings, as well as following hygiene and infection control protocols, will be part of your daily routine. You will play a supportive role to the medical/nursing staff by helping in preparing patients for examinations or procedures and assisting in the transportation of samples, equipment, or patients within the facility. Feeding patients as per their diet plan and ensuring timely administration of medicines under supervision will also be among your duties. Documentation assistance, including maintaining patient records and updating nursing logs if required, will be an important aspect of your role. In case of emergencies, you will be expected to provide assistance during procedures like CPR or shifting patients to the ICU and help in evacuations if necessary. Proper waste management, including segregating and disposing of medical and general waste safely, will also be part of your responsibilities. To excel in this role, you should possess basic healthcare knowledge, patient handling skills, hygiene and infection control awareness, communication and interpersonal skills, basic first aid knowledge, empathy, patience, physical stamina, teamwork, adaptability, and record-keeping ability.
