Job Summary : The Trade Compliance Executive will be responsible for ensuring that all import and export activities of the company are conducted in accordance with Indian customs regulations, international trade laws, and internal policies. This role plays a critical part in minimizing compliance risk, ensuring documentation accuracy, managing customs audits, and working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies. Key Responsibilities: Ensure adherence to all applicable customs, DGFT, EXIM, RBI and international trade regulations. Monitor and manage compliance with Import/Export procedures including classification (HSN/HTS codes), valuation, and origin rules. Assist in preparing and filing statutory declarations, licenses, and documentation (e.g., BOE, Shipping Bills, LUT, SION norms, EPCG, Advance Authorisation, etc.). Maintain and update records related to trade compliance as per legal and audit requirements. Serve as a liaison with Indian Customs, DGFT, and other regulatory bodies for trade compliance issues. Support and coordinate during customs audits or post-clearance audits; respond to notices and ensure proper documentation. Monitor updates in trade policies, duty structure, tariff changes, FTAs/PTAs, and recommend appropriate changes to business processes. Work closely with Procurement, Logistics, Legal, and Finance teams to ensure compliant trade operations. Develop and conduct internal training on trade compliance policies and best practices. Maintain records and reports for duty savings, exemptions, bonded warehouse operations, SEZ/EoU/STPI benefits (if applicable). Support the use of trade compliance software/tools (if implemented)
