The Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), an Institution of eminence deemed to be a University, is seeking applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow for the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM) funded by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Govt. of India. This research project is based in the Department of Chemistry at the Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal. As a Junior Research Fellow, you will be responsible for developing next-generation optical sensor materials capable of detecting real-time and ppm-level hydrogen leaks. The successful outcome of this project will contribute to safer hydrogen storage in distributed networks and transportation. This interdisciplinary project will involve collaboration with various institutions across India, including IISER, IITs, and CSIR labs. The Principal Investigator at Manipal possesses advanced R&D infrastructure, expertise, and resources necessary to achieve the objectives of this research topic. The essential qualification for this position is an M.Sc in Chemistry, Physics, or a related discipline, along with a valid NET, GATE, JEST qualification, or any other national-level exams as per the guidelines. The engagement will initially be for one year and may be extended based on performance, with the opportunity for the candidate to enroll in a PhD program. Remuneration for this position is INR 37,000 per month along with 9% House Rent Allowance (HRA).
