The opportunity: You will be a part of advancing the world's energy system towards sustainability, flexibility, and security with Hitachi Energy, a company with a strong global presence in over 140 countries. How you'll make an impact: You will support Global R&D projects by adapting the HVDC base Control and Protection software (MACH) based on study reports, conducting HIL (Hardware in loop) testing in the lab environment, and developing Control and Protection solutions for future HVDC technologies. Setting up and maintaining lab environments for various HVDC R&D projects and other business units. Performing pre-studies using EMT tools and identifying solutions for proposed Control and Protection ideas, as well as conducting power system Protection studies to optimize fault detection algorithms. Developing automated testing solutions using secondary injection test kits to enhance protection testing quality and productivity in HVDC projects. Creating test cases using EMT tools for testing HVDC Control and Protection functions in virtual environments and conducting functional type testing of AC protection functions as per IEC standards. Supporting projects in resolving Control and Protection function-related issues and proposing solutions for deviations from technical specifications. Analyzing competitor technologies, suggesting improvements, and coordinating with stakeholders to optimize solutions for Global HVDC projects and R&D activities. Ensuring compliance with external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines while embodying Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity. Your Background: You should have a BE/BTECH in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with 2 to 7 years of relevant experience. Knowledge or experience in HVDC, Electric Power System Analysis, Protection Relays, Automatic Control Theory, and Power System Simulation is preferred. Understanding of Control and Protection schematics of HV/LV electrical substations and communication protocols like IEC61850, MODBUS, and SAS systems. Experience in developing test cases for Protection function testing using secondary test kits like Omicron, Doble, etc. Familiarity with PSCAD, MATLAB, and other simulation software for electric power systems, as well as automation of test cases using Python, Omicron scripts.
