Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated MYP, IGCSE, DP Math Teacher to join our IB World School. The ideal candidate will inspire and challenge students to excel in mathematics while fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills. The teacher will be responsible for delivering the International Baccalaureate curriculum, ensuring a holistic and student-centered learning experience. Key Responsibilities: Curriculum Planning and Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons aligned with the IB MYP and DP mathematics curriculum. Develop and implement inquiry-based learning strategies to encourage students’ active participation. Ensure lessons cater to a range of student abilities and learning styles. Assessment and Feedback: Design formative and summative assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to enhance their learning experience. Prepare students for internal and external assessments, including DP examinations. Student Support and Engagement: Offer individual and group support to help students meet learning objectives. Encourage students to explore real-world applications of mathematical concepts. Foster an inclusive and respectful classroom environment. Collaboration and Professional Development: Work collaboratively with other subject teachers and IB coordinators to integrate interdisciplinary approaches. Participate in professional development sessions to stay updated on IB standards and practices. Contribute to curriculum reviews and updates. Pastoral and Extracurricular Duties: Support students' overall well-being by acting as a mentor or advisor when required. Participate in school activities, events, and initiatives, including math clubs or competitions. Qualifications and Skills: Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics or a related field. A teaching qualification (B.Ed., PGCE, or equivalent). Experience: Prior experience teaching IB MYP and/or DP Mathematics is highly desirable. Familiarity with IB philosophy and pedagogy. Skills: Strong subject knowledge in mathematics, including concepts like calculus, algebra, probability, and statistics. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in integrating technology into teaching practices. Commitment to fostering a love for learning in students. Preferred Attributes: IB-trained or certified educators will be given priority. Ability to adapt to a multicultural and diverse environment. A reflective and collaborative mindset. The Pre-Primary Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that fosters the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children (typically aged 2 to 5 years). The teacher plans and implements age-appropriate activities and curriculum that promote foundational learning through play and exploration. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement daily lesson plans that meet the learning needs of pre-primary students. Create a welcoming, inclusive classroom environment conducive to early learning. Foster children’s independence, creativity, and social development through play-based and structured activities. Use storytelling, music, games, art, and educational tools to support early literacy, numeracy, and motor skills. Observe and assess each child’s progress and development, maintaining accurate records and portfolios. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and milestones. Ensure the health, safety, and hygiene of children by adhering to school policies and child protection standards. Collaborate with co-teachers, assistants, and other staff to create a cohesive and supportive team environment. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events. Maintain classroom discipline using positive behavior reinforcement strategies. Qualifications and Skills: Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. Montessori or Nursery Teacher Training (NTT) certification is an advantage. Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience working with preschool-aged children preferred.
