Key Responsibilities Food Preparation and Cooking Prepare and cook dishes according to the menu and recipes. Ensure all food is cooked to the highest quality and standards. Maintain consistency in flavor, presentation, and portion sizes. Section Management Supervise and manage the assigned kitchen section. Delegate tasks to junior chefs and commis chefs, providing guidance as needed. Ensure the section operates efficiently during service hours. Inventory and Stock Control Monitor stock levels for the section and communicate replenishment needs. Minimize wastage and ensure proper storage of ingredients. Quality Control and Standards Ensure that dishes meet the establishment's standards for taste, appearance, and hygiene. Conduct regular checks to maintain compliance with food safety regulations. Training and Teamwork Mentor and train junior staff to enhance their skills. Foster a collaborative and supportive working environment. Communicate effectively with other sections and kitchen staff for smooth operations. Hygiene and Safety Compliance Maintain cleanliness and organization within the assigned section. Adhere to food hygiene and safety standards as per local regulations. Participate in regular kitchen cleaning schedules and inspections.
