POSITION OVERVIEW The HR Compliance Analyst is a remote offshore role supporting labor law compliance and background screening processes for our North American workforce . This individual ensures adherence to employment standards across U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions, while also coordinating background checks and credentialing for safety-sensitive and regulated roles. This role requires sharp attention to detail, strong judgment on compliance nuances, and a collaborative mindset. The ideal candidate is proactive in identifying potential risks, confident in interpreting regulatory requirements, and experienced in working with HR, legal, and healthcare stakeholders to ensure both speed and compliance in onboarding workflows. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Employment Standards & Classification Compliance Validate proper employment classification (e.g., W-2 vs. 1099, IC vs. employee) per federal and state/provincial rules. Monitor compliance with wage and hour regulations, including minimum wage, overtime, breaks, and paid leave across multiple jurisdictions. Ensure timely delivery of onboarding disclosures and postings in accordance with local labor codes. Support audits and investigations related to timekeeping, off-the-clock work, or unpaid wages. External Audits Assist with Third Party audits regarding contractor onboarding, including producing evidence on the successful completion of criminal checks, drug testing, and education/license verification and any other required documentation. Maintain secure and compliant documentation of sensitive background and credentialing records. Coordinate with third-party screening vendors, internal stakeholders, and hiring teams to troubleshoot issues or delays. Case Management & Documentation Track inquiries and approvals using Salesforce or similar case management systems. Ask clarifying questions to accurately assess compliance-related concerns and risks. Maintain organized logs and documentation to support audit-readiness and continuous process improvement. Cross-Functional Collaboration Liaise with HR, Legal, and Credentialing teams to ensure proper application of compliance procedures. Escalate potential misclassification or credentialing red flags to appropriate specialists. Identify recurring patterns and recommend adjustments to internal workflows or policies. SUCCESS PROFILE Must-Have Skills & Experience 2+ years of experience in HR compliance, onboarding operations, or credentialing. Familiarity with U.S. and/or Canadian employment classification, labor standards, and onboarding regulations. Working knowledge of background screening and credentialing processes, especially for healthcare or regulated industries. Strong judgment and critical thinking; able to ask the right questions and spot compliance risks. Experience using Salesforce or equivalent case management systems. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and discreet with confidential data. Preferred Prior experience supporting North American operations from a remote/offshore environment. Comfortable navigating multiple time zones and working cross-functionally in a virtual team. Work Environment & Schedule Remote work setup with a reliable internet connection and secure working environment. Must be available to work overlapping hours with North American time zones (Eastern, Central, or Pacific Time).
