The position of Application Engineer at SKF involves developing and promoting segment-oriented Application Solutions for Railways and managing Condition Monitoring projects in the Railways Sector. As an Application Engineer, you are expected to have 3-6 years of experience primarily in application engineering, maintenance exposure, or services. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Production, or Mining Engineering is required for this role. Your main responsibilities include developing high-quality application engineering solutions for customers in the segment, supporting the commercial proposals process with key account managers/sales, and achieving the business plan defined for the segment/customer. You will also be responsible for documenting solutions developed with customers, replicating success in the segment, and conducting regular training and development sessions for various teams. It is essential for you to have high technical competence and knowledge about SKF Products and Solutions, as well as good communication skills at a senior management level. Knowledge of Railway Systems and processes, such as product approval cycles and customer complaint management, is crucial for this role. You will be required to actively participate in industry Technical Forums, manage technical complaints of customers in the segment, and communicate regularly with customers and internal organizations on products and new market offerings. Building strong and long-term relationships with customers, understanding their needs, machines, development life cycles, and market trends is key to success in this role. Continuous evaluation of profitability, staying updated on technologies, products, and services within SKF Organization, and supporting sales teams are also part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will be expected to strive for continuous improvement, support projects, products, and services, and adhere to SKF quality procedures and Code of Conduct. Key interfaces in this role include internal interactions with Manufacturing (Local/Global), Engineering, Solution Factories, Sales Team, Product Line, and Business Development.
