Verify that medical activities or operations meet standards. Determine protocols for medical procedures. Interpret imaging data and confer with other medical specialists to formulate diagnoses. Analyze test data or images to inform diagnosis or treatment. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to plan or provide treatment. Prescribe radionuclides and dosages to be administered to individual patients. Prescribe medications. Review procedure requests and patients' medical histories to determine applicability of procedures and radioisotopes to be used. Verify accuracy of patient information. Direct nuclear medicine technologists or technicians regarding desired dosages, techniques, positions, and projections. Supervise patient care personnel.
