Quality Specialist - Metal Fabrication

Role Overview: Hitachi Energy is seeking a Quality Specialist - Metal Fabrication to join the Transformers Business team in Vadodara, India. The Transformers BU team is dedicated to leveraging innovative technology to transform energy and create a sustainable energy future. As a Quality Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of quality products and services. Key Responsibilities: - Work with fabricators to develop them and ensure the right quality standards are met. - Qualify and audit suppliers, monitor their performance, and drive performance improvement activities. - Support investigation and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) with in-depth analysis of process records in case of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), failures, or quality issues. - Collaborate with process experts, technical experts, production, and quality teams to enhance Test Failures & Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), improve overall Quality & Operations (Q&O) performance, and enhance customer satisfaction. - Report to the PT Factory Quality manager and participate in fabrication component inspections at Bhopal, Mumbai, and Vadodara. - Possess knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) such as DP, RT, and UT testing, verification of WPS/PQR/WPQ, welding processes like GMAW/MIG/SMAW, welding defects prevention, transformer tank pressure & vacuum testing, raw material verification, yoke clamp inspection, surface preparation, painting processes, and painting defects prevention. - Uphold Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity by taking responsibility for your actions and showing care for colleagues and the business. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in electrical/mechanical engineering. - Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in quality, preferably in the power transformer industry. - Practical knowledge of SAP Quality Management. - Ability to carry out customer inspections as per Manufacturing Quality Plan (MQP) and obtain clearance. - Certification in NACE, SPS, or welding-related courses is an added advantage. - Technical knowledge of products relevant to the power Transmission & Distribution (T&D) industry. - Advantageous to have High Voltage Test Laboratory knowledge. - Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, structured thinking, professional supplier approach. - Possession of a valid driving license with no travel restrictions. - Proficiency in both spoken and written English language.,
