Role Overview: As the Quality Lead, your mission will be to ensure the data flowing through the Data Platform is accurate, reliable, and trustworthy. You will be responsible for building a comprehensive quality assurance strategy from the ground up, implementing automated checks and validation processes to guarantee data integrity at every stage of the pipeline. You will be the champion of data quality, enabling the business to make decisions with the highest level of confidence. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and execute an end-to-end testing strategy for the entire data platform, from raw data ingestion to the final Tableau dashboards. - Design, write, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks (primarily in Python) to validate data transformations, business logic, and data quality rules. - Use advanced SQL to perform rigorous data validation, comparing data between source, curated, and final reporting layers to ensure accuracy and integrity. - Collaborate with the BI Developer to functionally test dashboards, verifying calculations, filters, and visuals against the source data. - Identify, document, and track data quality issues to resolution, working closely with the data engineers to implement fixes. Qualifications Required: - Strong experience in test automation, specifically using Python and associated testing frameworks (e.g., pytest). - Expert-level SQL skills are essential for writing complex queries to profile and validate large datasets. - Proven experience in quality assurance for data warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines, and BI projects. - A meticulous, detail-oriented approach to problem-solving and the ability to systematically identify the root cause of data discrepancies.
