Develop and enforce quality assurance systems to ensure consistent product standards for LT/HT panels, control panels, etc. Drive root cause analysis (RCA), CAPA , and continuous improvement initiatives using tools like 5 Whys, 8D, Pareto, etc. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IEC, BIS, and other relevant standards . Plan and execute internal and external audits , prepare QMS documentation, and conduct quality training for team members. Coordinate closely with the design, production, and customer service teams to ensure first-time-right delivery . Review and analyze quality reports, NCRs, customer feedback, and take corrective and preventive actions. Maintain calibration records, inspection logs, and develop inspection test plans (ITPs). Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of 10+ quality engineers and inspectors to deliver consistent excellence. Preferred candidate profile Minimum 10 years of experience in Quality Management, preferably in electrical panel manufacturing (LV/MV/HT panels). Strong understanding of electrical drawings, testing protocols, IEC standards , and fabrication processes. Proven leadership skills with the ability to drive performance through team engagement and accountability. Proficient in quality tools, documentation practices , and use of measuring instruments. Purpose : To ensure all site activities meet company quality and regulatory standards Principal Accountabilities Planning & Budgeting - Keep abreast with industry related best practices, market trends etc with respect to quality standards. Prepare site related budget for quality and submit to Regional Head for finalization and approval. Adhere to project budgets and ensure all quality-related activities are conducted within the allocated resources. Prepare site related quality management plans and submit for review and approval. Quality Control - Initiate kick-off meetings and orient contractors on project quality expectations. Prepare the project quality plan and method statements for assigned projects, and seek necessary approvals. Inspect incoming materials for quality compliance, identify deviations, and inform relevant stakeholders to coordinate for timely replacements; arrange third-party inspections as needed. Conduct weekly quality walk-throughs on-site to ensure all project activities comply with company standards and regulatory requirements. Issue non-conformance (NC) reports to contractors for any deviations, conduct root cause analysis, and submit CAPA actions for approval. Perform site inspections during handover to verify unit readiness; collaborate with stakeholders to address and correct deviations. Highlight and drive resolution of any deviations with relevant stakeholders within defined timelines. Ensure all non-conformances observed during inspections are resolved through collaboration with stakeholders. Maintain comprehensive documentation of all inspections and third-party reports. Prepare and manage quality MIS reports for each project. Quality Assurance - Implement all quality related activities in adherence to the Birla Quality Manual and other relevant standards for the assigned site. Participate in both internal and external audits; ensure site readiness and furnish required documentation during audits. Collaborate with the project head to ensure closure of all site audit points within specified timelines and implement corrective actions as needed. Conduct regular quality training sessions at site to raise quality awareness; participate in external training programs as required. Continuous Improvements - Provide inputs for improvements in the QMS. Identify opportunities for improvement basis best practices, seek sign off and ensure effective implementation.
