Quality Engineer

Role:

- Quality Planning and Documentation

* Develops and updates quality control plans, inspection procedures, and work instructions for various manufacturing processes.

* Creates and manages quality documentation like inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective action records.

* Ensures all quality documents are updated and easily accessible.

* Collaborates with the Design Engineer to review product specifications and ensure they are measurable and testable.

- In-Process and Final Quality Control

* Oversees inspections at various stages of production (e.g., raw material, in-process, final product).

* Conducts detailed inspections using appropriate measuring tools and techniques.

* Identifies and documents product defects or non-conformances.

* Ensures products meet all internal and customer quality standards before dispatch.

- Problem Solving and Corrective Actions

* Investigates the root causes of quality issues, defects, or customer complaints.

* Implements corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to stop problems from happening again.

* Works with Fabrication, Design, and other teams to improve processes and product quality.

* Monitors the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.

- Supplier Quality Management

* Works with the Purchase Engineer to assess and monitor the quality performance of suppliers.

* Conducts quality checks on incoming materials, often referencing points on the Goods Received Note (GRN).

* Addresses quality issues related to supplied materials and ensures suppliers take corrective actions.

- Tools, Equipment, and Standards

* Ensures all measuring instruments and quality testing equipment are calibrated and working correctly.

* Implements and maintains industry quality standards (e.g., ISO, ZED, 5S, etc)

Responsibilities:

• Conduct final inspections and process audits
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures
• Collaborate with production team on improvement initiatives
