. Responsible for validating product quality by analyzing and testing the quality of the codebase. Makes decisions affecting architecture of the test codebase including which software to use for writing test code. Focuses on writing code that will be executed in an automated and repeatable fashion which will reduce manual testing efforts and increase code quality and consistency. Develops and maintains code that validates front-end, middleware and database systems, using the latest tools and common programming languages. Provides input into various software development lifecycle stages. Partners with software engineers to write efficient automation code using coding standards and best practices. Executes automated code and creates comprehensive execution reports for team. Repairs complex broken automation scripts and performs peer reviews of automation codebase. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities. Acts as resource and mentor for colleagues with less experience. Job Description Core Responsibilities As an Eng 3, Web Application Automation Developer and Tester specializing in Automation development Testing , you would: Lead and contribute to the design, development, and execution of automated tests using Python tools (Pytest)and Playwright . Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test cases, test plans, and test strategies that align with product requirements. Develop and maintain automated test plan and cases for end-to-end testing, functional and regression testing and release testing ensuring and improving software quality at every stage of development life cycle. Create and implement test frameworks that are scalable, maintainable, and integrated into the continuous integration/continuous deployment ( CI/CD ) pipeline. Conduct performance testing, stress testing, and load testing to ensure the scalability and stability of applications. Analyse test results and identify defects, ensuring they are reported in Jira, tracked and resolved efficiently. Technical Skills Requirements: Python : Proficiency in Python for writing test scripts. JavaScript/React : Basic understanding of React to effectively test the frontend. Playwright : Familiarity with Playwrights Python API for browser automation. HTML/CSS : Basic knowledge to interact with web elements. Backend Testing : Understanding of API testing for the Python backend. Tools and Frameworks: GitHub Copilot: Test framework development using VS code and Promting. Pytest : Pytest for structuring and running your tests. Requests : Use the requests library for API testing of the backend. CI/CD Tools : Integrate your tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions. Experience with test management tools like Jira for test case management.
