Key Responsibilities: Forging Design & Development Lead and manage the engineering function for forging operations (hot, warm, or cold forging). Review product drawings and translate them into forgeable designs. Oversee die and tooling design in coordination with the tooling department. Use simulation software (e.g., DEFORM, QForm, ForgeNxT) to validate and optimize forging processes. Support new product development from RFQ to production phase. Process Engineering & Optimization Develop process flow charts, forging sequences, and layouts for new and existing parts. Standardize forging parameters (temperature, force, die design, etc.) and implement best practices. Identify and implement process improvements to reduce cycle time, scrap, and rework. Work closely with quality, production, and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and solve shop floor issues. Documentation & Quality Prepare and maintain process documents (SOPs, work instructions, FMEA, control plans). Support PPAP/APQP documentation and customer approvals for new components. Ensure compliance with ISO/TS/IATF standards and customer-specific requirements. Team & Vendor Coordination Lead a team of design and process engineers. Collaborate with die/tool vendors, material suppliers, and machinery OEMs. Provide technical support to production and training for engineers and operators. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Metallurgical / Production Engineering M.Tech or PG Diploma in Forging Technology (preferred) Experience: 815 years of relevant experience in forging engineering, preferably in automotive, aerospace, oil & gas, or industrial sectors Hands-on experience in forging simulation, die design, and process optimization Key Skills: Strong knowledge of forging processes (closed-die, open-die, upset forging, etc.) Proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo) and simulation software (DEFORM, QForm, etc.) Understanding of metallurgy, material flow, and heat treatment processes Experience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
