QC EXECUTIVE

The QC Executive is responsible for performing detailed testing of production batches following specific written testing procedures. This role requires precise measurement and critical evaluation of product attributes such as consistency and shelf-life, leading to definitive pass/fail quality determinations. The incumbent will identify and address discrepancies in both in-spec and out-of-spec data, including the preparation of NCR and conducting RCA.

QC Executive will analyse test results and historical data to ensure products consistently meet or exceed customer quality requirements. Providing clear instructions to production personnel for batch adjustments will be a key responsibility. This hands-on role requires collaboration with teams across Technical, Sales, Production, and Logistics to uphold quality throughout the entire customer experience. Additionally, you will contribute to the efficient operation of the laboratory, maintain general housekeeping, ensure a safe work environment, and independently execute tasks as directed by management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and practices, ensuring a safe working environment and exercising caution in all tasks to protect self and colleagues.

Take accountability for maintaining safe working conditions and surroundings at all times.

Approve production batches only after confirming that all required tests are completed and results comply with established specifications prior to advancing to subsequent production stages.

Review batch documentation (batch slips) for accuracy and completeness.

Accurately enter batch data into the batch records management system.

Prepare and generate all necessary paperwork in accordance with customer and company requirements.

Collect and dispatch customer samples as requested.

Follow all standard technical procedures, demonstrating sound judgment and initiative, and complete assigned duties efficiently with minimal supervision.

Employ analytical and creative problem-solving skills to conduct root cause analysis for batches with quality issues, focusing on process or formula adjustments to ensure first-run accuracy.

Perform raw material testing when required and maintain accurate records of testing outcomes.

Manage and organize the product retain area, including inventory of retained samples.

Utilize appropriate computer systems and software to facilitate thorough product testing and data recording.

Collaborate effectively with Technical and Production teams to optimize manufacturing processes and formula development.

Identify and isolate non-conforming materials by placing them on hold to prevent further processing.

Maintain laboratory supply inventory, restock items upon receipt, and initiate purchase requests when stock levels are low.

Be flexible to work alternate shifts, including covering vacations, overtime, or call-ins as necessary.

Ensure laboratory cleanliness and equipment maintenance through regular housekeeping and cleaning of test instruments.

Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.

Maintain batch records and sample documentation in compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) standards.

Communicate product quality issues promptly to relevant departments for timely resolution.

Develop, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Quality Department, ensuring compliance with ISO and other applicable standards.

Assist in training and mentoring laboratory staff as required.

Prepare and submit timely Quality Control reports to the Quality Manager.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field, or 23 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.

Experience operating within a laboratory environment adhering to industry standards

Strong knowledge of tinting and colour matching processes, with full visual perception of the colour spectrum.

Proven ability to control and monitor production processes and batches to ensure product quality.

Competence in the use of standard office equipment including computers, printers and Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
