We are looking for stellar test & automation engineer in IP routing and networking domain to test platform & L2/L3 feature sets in distributed & disaggregated chassis systems.

Required skills -
- Engage engineering teams, product line managers and product owners to transform high-level requirements into optimized test coverage.
- Develop test strategies and test plans to fully exercise Packet Optical Transport product; System level, Routing and Switching, Provisioning, Performance and Scale, Fault management, Network traffic integrity.
- Write effective automation to cover different feature sets to minimize continuous manual efforts.
- Manual & automation testing for various feature sets within agile methodology and involve software designers for quick resolution of critical and blocking bugs.
- Test coverage per release and software requirements and fulfill gaps whenever required by manual & automation testing.
- Analysis of sanity/regression results and make sure to triage software issues with designers within time for quality executions.
- Use test engineering knowledge to create system level tests to drive improvements in scalability, performance & high availability.
- Coordinate with peer scrum teams and technology leaders to ensure excellent cross-component & cross-scrum QA strategy and coverage for platform & software feature-sets.
- Understand customer use-cases & deployment scenarios to have better test alignment with release & present customer-demos when required.
- Interact with PLM, architects and release managers to harden requirements.
- Contribute to IETF and companys intellectual properties (Patents, White papers). Watch for industry standards and data application trends & alert senior management of potential roadblocks in product development.
- Exchange vast experience/ideas with team to promote learning.
Must Haves -
- Bachelor/Master degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Progressive experience in System & Networking Testing role.
- Working experience with python automation. Interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed.
- Experience in development environments GIT, Jenkins, Grafana.
- Experience working in Agile and Waterfall models of development.
- Experience in both manual and automated testing environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills associated with service provider, enterprise and carrier software solutions in general.
- Excellent written (documentation) and interpersonal communication skills (English);
- Strong desire and abilities to work as part of a team or independently with less supervision.
- Strong abilities to rapidly learn new sophisticated technological concepts and apply knowledge in daily activities.
- Experience working with UNIX/Linux/RHEL/Ubuntu and/or any other server OS, be it on bare metal and/or Virtual Machine, and system admin functions.
- Knowledge of system level, Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols (like MPLS, IGP, BGP, Segment Routing, EVPN etc).
Assets -
- Validated experience with Python, Java, JavaScripting, CORBA, TCL/TK/Expect and/or REST API and associated tools is highly desirable.
- Knowledge and/or work experience related to network virtualization software like Open vSwitch, vRouter, etc. is highly desirable.
- Experience in NBI -SNMP, NETCONF, GRPC is highly desirable.
- Experience working with docker-container based systems is highly desirable.
- Experience working with Layers 2 and/or 3 technologies on Ciena s CES, and/or 6500 platforms would be an asset.
