Python Developer

Role Overview: At Epikdoc AI, we are seeking a Python Developer with strong backend expertise, particularly in Django, to join our rapidly expanding tech team. This role is ideal for individuals who excel in a startup environment and are passionate about developing products that have a global impact on thousands of clinicians and patients. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain backend systems utilizing Python, primarily Django, and optionally Flask or FastAPI. - Construct secure and efficient RESTful APIs while supporting frontend integration. - Collaborate closely with frontend developers, AI engineers, and product managers to ensure seamless experiences for users. - Manage and query databases, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. - Configure Docker containers and contribute to deployment on AWS or similar cloud platforms. - Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code, and participate in peer reviews. - Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and version control using Git. - Stay informed about backend, AI, and DevOps trends, and implement best practices within the team. Qualifications Required: - Proficient in Python with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Django. - Previous experience in building scalable web applications and APIs. - Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JS for backend-frontend integration. - Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. - Hands-on experience with Docker, AWS, Git, and version control workflows. - Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and performance optimization abilities. Nice to Have: - Experience with FastAPI, WebSockets, GraphQL, or asynchronous frameworks. - Knowledge of AI/ML, particularly NLP and LLMs (OpenAI, Hugging Face). - Familiarity with Celery, Redis, RabbitMQ, or other task/message queues. - Exposure to Sentry, Prometheus, Grafana for monitoring/logging. - Contributions to open-source projects or previous freelance experience.
