Python Developer | Django + Angular | Remote or Part-Time Freelancer

About the Role:

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain back-end features using

  Python

   and

  Django

  .
• Collaborate on front-end development with

  Angular

  , TypeScript, and HTML/CSS.
• Write clean, well-documented, and tested code.
• Contribute to a Docker-based development and deployment environment.
• Help design and refine systems for document processing, including OCR, tagging, metadata extraction, and categorization.
• Follow and improve development workflows using tools like Git, pre-commit hooks, and CI pipelines.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proficiency in Python

  , particularly with the

  Django

   framework.
• Experience contributing to open-source projects (public GitHub/GitLab profile is a plus).
• Solid understanding of web development, including:

• Back-end

  : Python, Django, RESTful APIs

• Front-end

  : Angular, TypeScript, HTML/CSS
• Familiarity with

  Docker

   and containerized application workflows.
• Knowledge of software testing and code quality practices (unit testing, formatting tools, pre-commit hooks).
• Understanding of

  document management concepts

   such as OCR, document parsing, categorization, and workflow automation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills—comfortable working in a distributed, community-driven environment.

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with GitHub Actions or other CI/CD systems
• Familiarity with

  Paperless-ngx

   or similar DMS tools
• UX/UI sensitivity or experience improving accessibility and usability
• Agile development or open-source team collaboration experience
