Process Engineer (Cement Mill - Process Optimization) located in Meghalaya, India : Job Title: Process Engineer - Cement Mill Optimization Location: Meghalaya State, India Department: Production / Process Engineering Reporting To: Production Manager / Head of Process Engineering Role Summary We are seeking a skilled Process Engineer to optimize the performance of our cement milling operations in Meghalaya. Your primary focus will be enhancing efficiency, reducing energy consumption, improving product quality, and ensuring sustainable operations through data-driven process improvements in raw, coal, and finish grinding circuits. Key Responsibilities Process Optimization: Analyze cement mill performance (ball mills, VRMs) using tools like SIP, Six Sigma, or DOE. Implement solutions to optimize grinding efficiency, reduce specific power consumption, and maximize throughput. Monitor and adjust process parameters (feed rate, separator speed, ventilation, etc.) for peak operation. Quality & Efficiency: Ensure cement quality (fineness, residue, strength) meets standards (BIS, ASTM). Reduce variability in product quality through process stabilization. Minimize downtime via predictive maintenance coordination and process troubleshooting. Sustainability Initiatives: Drive energy-saving projects (e.g., optimizing grinding aids, mill internals, or circuit configuration). Support alternative fuel (AFR) integration in milling processes where applicable. Track and reduce CO footprint per ton of cement produced. Data Analysis & Reporting: Use process data (SCADA, LIMS) for daily performance reviews and KPI tracking. Prepare reports on mill efficiency, bottlenecks, and improvement plans. Safety & Compliance: Ensure all process changes adhere to safety (ISO 45001) and environmental (ISO 14001) standards. Conduct risk assessments for process modifications. Qualifications & Skills Education: B.Tech/B.E. in Chemical/Mechanical/Cement Technology. Experience: 35 years in cement plant process engineering, with a focus on cement milling optimization . Technical Skills: Expertise in cement mill machinery (VRM/ball mills, separators, classifiers). Proficiency in process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen, CAD). Data analysis (PI System, Excel, statistical tools). Certifications: Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt (preferred). Soft Skills: Problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, adaptability in remote locations. Role & responsibilities 1. Maintenance planning of Preventive, Predictive and Scheduled maintenance 2. Effective man power utilization and maintaining site as per business requirements 3. Co-ordination with Cross Functional Teams to carry out plant requirements on daily basis 4. Co-ordination with condition monitoring department to check the healthiness of equipments 5. To update equipment maintenance history and check lists on regular basis 6. Should have good knowledge on SAP to update maintenance records as per SAP system 7. Making effective RCA for any kind of breakdown analysis and preparation of action plan 8. Should have good knowledge on MTBF & MTTR and ensuring Equipment Reliability and Availability as per business target 9. Monitoring spares consumption and good knowledge on effective spares maintenance 10. Equipment spares planning and procurement follow-up with Purchase department 11. Co-ordination with Vendors for Materials/services in terms of technical conformity 12. Should have good knowledge on Budget preparation, Estimation and follow-up for Revenue, Capex and Modification jobs 13. Co-ordination with Project dept. to carry out current and upcoming/future Capex Jobs 14. Execution of Project jobs as per schedule 15. Should have Good knowledge in Safety Systems 16. Should have Good knowledge in Operation and maintenance of HT Motors & HT switch gears. 17. Should have Good knowledge in Operation and maintenance of LT motors. IMCC , PCC and MCC. 18. Should have Good knowledge in Operation and maintenance of Power transformer, Distribution transformer, Three winding transformer, ESP transformer. 19. Should have Good knowledge in Operation and maintenance of DG , TG , Parallel operation, load management. 20. Should have sound knowledge in troubleshooting activities 21. Should have good knowledge on VFD troubleshooting and maintenance 22. Should have good knowledge and experience on IMS report generation & documentation and to upkeep the ISO System documents 23. Should have good knowledge on 5S and documentation 24. Should have sufficient knowledge on Instrumentation systems (SCADA, PLC, Controllers., field instruments. 25. Must Possess Valid C” License issued by Electrical licensing board of TAMILNADU Govt.
