We are looking for an Energy System Modeler with expertise in the power sector, specifically focusing on renewable energy integration, capacity expansion modelling, and grid flexibility assessments. Proficiency in Python and experience with PyPSA are highly preferred for this role. As an Energy System Modeler, your responsibilities will include conducting advanced simulations of power grids to evaluate renewable energy integration and grid stability. You will be developing and applying capacity expansion models to support long-term planning, as well as assessing grid flexibility needs and designing solutions for optimizing renewable energy uptake. It will be essential to analyze complex technical and socio-economic challenges related to energy systems and to research, develop, and implement innovative frameworks for renewable energy deployment. Additionally, you will be performing quantitative data analysis using advanced computational tools and models, preparing academic publications, analytical reports, and other dissemination materials, and engaging with stakeholders to present technical solutions and create awareness about energy system innovations. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to mentor and support early-career professionals in energy modeling and research. Candidates for this position should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in energy system modelling or related fields, strong proficiency in Python with familiarity in PyPSA as an advantage, and a solid understanding of renewable energy technologies, power systems, and policy frameworks.
