PYP Teacher Homeroom

As a Primary School Teacher, you will be supervised by the head of the primary school and ultimately responsible to the principal. Along with adhering to the requirements outlined in your individual appointment terms and conditions of service, you will have specific responsibilities to fulfill. Your duties and responsibilities will include: - Maintaining a personal and professional commitment to the school's core values and upholding professional ethical standards, particularly in confidentiality. - Assisting the head of the primary school and the PYP coordinator in effectively communicating with parents. - Participating in the design, development, implementation, and review of the assessment and reporting system. - Supporting the school's implementation of best practices in primary education. - Engaging in professional development and contributing to regular staff training and meetings. - Collaborating with colleagues to build effective professional relationships. - Communicating effectively with parents regarding students" achievements and well-being. - Ensuring that daily teaching practices reflect high standards of research-supported instruction. - Recognizing students as thinkers with their own theories and building upon their prior understanding, knowledge, and skills. - Using a variety of resources that represent multiple perspectives to enrich the learning experience. - Empowering students to take responsibility and act upon their learning. - Providing additional support to students who may need academic assistance or further challenges. - Ensuring that students with learning differences receive appropriate programs. - Delivering the curriculum relevant to the age and subjects you teach. - Contributing to enhancing the professional standing of the teaching staff. - Being mindful of students" capabilities, prior knowledge, and planning teaching and differentiation accordingly. Requirements: Required qualifications/skills: - Teaching qualification. - Relevant degree. - Experience with the IB Primary Years Programme. - Proficiency in spoken English. Desired qualifications/skills: - Previous experience teaching the PYP, particularly focusing on early years education. - Experience in teaching phonics and reading instruction. - Participation in PYP-focused professional development. - A strong understanding of current research on child learning and the ability to motivate students. - Capability to manage a diverse and demanding workload. This is a full-time position with a day shift schedule, requiring proficiency in English and in-person work at the designated location.,
