As a Sr Engineer/Engineer - Production at our plant located in Muval, Padra Taluka, Vadodara, you will play a crucial role in the fabrication of static equipment including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, reactors, storage tanks, and piping. We are seeking a dedicated individual with a full-time bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering, or a Diploma in Fabrication Technology from Sir BPTI Polytechnic, Bhavnagar, coupled with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a production shop specializing in the manufacturing of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, reactors, and similar equipment. Your responsibilities will include hands-on tasks such as plate rolling, edge preparation, fit-up, and various welding techniques including arc, tig, CO2, and SAW. While knowledge of Non-Destructive Examination (NDE), Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT), hydro testing, and experience with carbon steel and various grades of stainless steels is required, familiarity with reading technical drawings, strong numerical and analytical skills, as well as effective verbal and written communication abilities are essential for success in this role. The ideal candidate should possess shop floor experience and demonstrate a deep understanding of the fabrication processes involved in the production of static equipment. Candidates with a background in site fabrication or construction will not be considered for this position. You should have a good knowledge of National & International codes/standards such as IBR, TEMA, ASME, BS, EN, and PED. You should also possess thorough knowledge about Quality control/inspection of Heat Exchangers, Pressure vessels, columns during various stages of fabrication including Welding, PWHT, Nondestructive testing, Chemical and Mechanical testing of steel material, and non-destructive examination techniques (Level II in RT, MT, UT, PT, and VT). Knowledge of various welding processes like SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, and SAW is essential. You should be capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in documentation work as per ITP requirements and handling TPI is crucial. You will be responsible for conducting Root cause analysis and closing of NCRs with detailed reports. You will also be required to witness various Destructive and non-Destructive testing such as Macro examination, PMI, Ferrite, chemical analysis, Micro examination, Charpy V notch, Tensile test, Pullout Test, and IGC Test. Your duties will involve studying client specifications & standards, POs/Drawings for all subcontracted parts, attending Pre-Inspection Meetings, and other meetings as necessary. You will visit manufacturers and suppliers as needed to perform or witness required inspection activities and oversee all Inspection-related activities for subcontracted parts for Customers. Additionally, you will review & approve Quality Assurance Plans for subcontracted parts, prepare inspection checklists, conduct Vendor Evaluation/Rating & Surveillance at vendors" places, assign and approve inspection calls, offer inspection to Customer/Customer appointed inspector at vendors" places, and update necessary documentation accordingly. As a professional in the Heavy Fabrication industry, your primary responsibilities will include: - Conducting a detailed study of Drawings, Tender documents & Specifications, providing inputs for estimation. - Developing a comprehensive plan from raw material receipt to the final delivery of end products. - Engaging in advance planning for resources such as machining, sub-contracting, manpower, etc. - Managing resources effectively, including manpower, labour contractors, vendors & service providers. - Handling the indenting of jigs-fixtures and other materials, as well as coordinating with vendors. - Creating Operation Cards for Raw material processes like Plasma Cutting, bending, Rolling or Forming. - Developing Work Instructions for Special Fabrication, Hydro Machining, Sub-Contracting, PWHT, Dispatch, etc. - Maintaining communication with clients & management, and coordinating and planning activities to enhance delivery processes.
