Job Description: Solar Engineer - Jaipur Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Solar Engineer to join our team in Jaipur. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end engineering aspects of solar PV projects, from feasibility studies and design to commissioning and troubleshooting. This role requires a strong understanding of solar PV system components, design principles, industry standards, and a commitment to delivering high-performance, cost-effective solar solutions. Key Responsibilities Feasibility & Site Assessment: Conduct comprehensive site surveys and assessments for residential, commercial, industrial, and utility-scale solar projects. Analyze site conditions, shadow analysis, solar irradiance data, and assess structural viability for solar installations. Prepare detailed site assessment reports with recommendations. System Design & Engineering: Design grid-tied, off-grid, and hybrid solar PV systems using industry-standard software (e.g., PVSyst, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Helioscope, SolidWorks). Perform energy yield estimations, shading analysis, and system sizing. Select appropriate PV modules, inverters, mounting structures, cables, protection devices, and other balance-of-system (BOS) components. Prepare detailed engineering drawings (layout, SLD, earthing, lightning protection), wiring diagrams, and bill of materials (BOMs). Ensure designs comply with relevant Indian and international standards (e.g., MNRE guidelines, IS standards, IEC, NEC). Technical Documentation & Proposals: Develop comprehensive technical proposals, tender documents, and detailed project reports (DPRs). Prepare technical specifications for equipment procurement. Create O&M manuals and other post-commissioning documentation. Project Execution Support: Provide technical support during project execution, installation, and commissioning phases. Address technical queries from installation teams and clients. Conduct quality checks and ensure adherence to design specifications during installation. Supervise or assist in the testing and commissioning of solar PV systems. Troubleshooting & O&M Support: Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues in existing solar installations. Provide technical expertise for operation and maintenance (O&M) activities. Identify potential performance bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions. Compliance & Regulations: Stay updated with the latest solar technology trends, industry best practices, and regulatory changes (e.g., MNRE policies, state-specific regulations in Rajasthan). Ensure all designs and installations meet safety standards and local regulations. Collaboration & Communication: Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams. Participate in client meetings, present technical solutions, and address concerns. Required Qualifications & Skills Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a closely related field. Experience: 3-5 years of proven experience as a Solar Engineer, specifically in the design, engineering, and execution of grid-tied and/or off-grid solar PV projects. Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of solar PV system components, their functionality, and interdependencies. Proficiency in solar design software (e.g., PVSyst, AutoCAD, SketchUp). Knowledge of Helioscope/SolarGIS/PVWatts is a plus. Familiarity with relevant Indian and international standards for solar installations. Knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards. Experience with string inverters, central inverters, and micro-inverters. Understanding of battery storage systems for off-grid/hybrid solutions is a plus. Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in design and documentation. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi. Ability to present technical information clearly. Software Skills: Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Travel: Willingness to travel to project sites across Rajasthan as required.
