Role & responsibilities Supplier Identification and Development : Identify and evaluate new suppliers for automotive components, raw materials, and services. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure they meet technical, quality, and cost requirements. Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliable supply and continuous improvement. Cost Optimization : Conduct cost analysis to ensure competitive pricing for all sourced components and materials. Negotiate contracts, prices, terms, and conditions to achieve cost reductions and secure long-term agreements. Implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies to reduce TCO while maintaining quality and delivery targets. Cross-functional Collaboration : Work closely with design, engineering, and quality teams to ensure that sourced components meet the technical specifications and quality standards. Assist in the development of prototype and production-ready components by interfacing with engineering teams and suppliers. Supplier Performance Management : Monitor and evaluate supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, and cost. Establish and maintain KPIs for suppliers and take corrective actions as needed. Conduct regular supplier audits to ensure compliance with automotive industry standards (e.g., ISO/TS 16949, IATF 16949). Risk Management : Identify potential supply chain risks and develop mitigation plans to prevent disruptions in production. Manage supplier capacity and capability to ensure they meet the companys production needs. Continuous Improvement : Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain to improve efficiency, reduce lead times, and increase responsiveness. Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies that could benefit the companys sourcing strategies.
