About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Purchase Head to lead procurement operations, vendor development, material planning, cost optimization, and supply chain management. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in purchasing raw materials (RM), consumables, sheet metal, automotive components, metal products, PVC materials, and other manufacturing-related items.

The candidate must have strong negotiation skills, an established vendor network, and the ability to ensure timely material availability while maintaining quality standards and controlling procurement costs.

Key Responsibilities1. Strategic Procurement & Purchase Management

• Lead the overall purchase and procurement function for manufacturing operations.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with production and business requirements.
• Manage the procurement of raw materials, consumables, sheet metal, metal components, PVC materials, and engineering items.
• Ensure timely availability of materials to support uninterrupted production.
• Establish purchase policies, procedures, and internal controls.

2. Raw Material (RM) Procurement

• Handle procurement of sheet metal, steel, metal components, PVC and other production-related raw materials.
• Develop a strong understanding of material specifications, grades, quality requirements, and market pricing.
• Coordinate with Production, PPC, Quality, Stores, and Engineering teams to plan material requirements.
• Monitor raw material prices, market trends, lead times, and availability.
• Optimize inventory levels while avoiding stock-outs and excess stock.

3. Consumables & Engineering Purchases

• Manage procurement of production consumables, tools, dies, fixtures, fasteners, hardware, and maintenance items.
• Purchase electrical, mechanical, and other MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) materials as required.
• Ensure cost-effective sourcing without compromising product quality or production requirements.

4. Vendor Development & Management

• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers for raw materials and manufacturing components.
• Build long-term relationships with vendors and negotiate competitive commercial terms.
• Conduct vendor assessments based on quality, cost, delivery, capacity, and compliance.
• Develop alternative suppliers to reduce dependency and mitigate supply chain risks.
• Monitor vendor performance and resolve delivery or quality issues.

5. Cost Reduction & Negotiation

• Lead price negotiations, annual rate contracts, and long-term supply agreements.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives, value engineering, and strategic sourcing practices.
• Benchmark market prices and analyze cost trends for key materials.
• Improve procurement efficiency and achieve measurable savings.
• Optimize payment terms, credit periods, transportation costs, and other commercial conditions.

6. Purchase Planning & Inventory Control

• Coordinate with PPC, Production, and Stores teams to ensure material availability as per production schedules.
• Review purchase requisitions, material requirements, and inventory reports.
• Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels, safety stock, and reorder points.
• Track purchase orders, delivery schedules, pending supplies, and material shortages.
• Minimize obsolete inventory, excess stock, and emergency purchases.

7. Purchase Order & Commercial Management

• Oversee RFQs, comparative statements, purchase orders, delivery schedules, and supplier contracts.
• Ensure procurement activities follow approved budgets and authorization procedures.
• Coordinate with Accounts & Finance for invoice verification, payment terms, and vendor payments.
• Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with company procurement policies.

8. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Coordination

• Lead, mentor, and develop the purchase and procurement team.
• Establish procurement KPIs and monitor team performance.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, PPC, Stores, Engineering, and Finance departments.
• Prepare and present purchase MIS reports, cost-saving reports, vendor performance reports, and procurement budgets to management.

Pay: ₹65,000.00 - ₹87,000.00 per month
