Purchase Head

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Purchase Head to manage procurement activities for the PWHT department. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials, managing vendors, negotiating prices, controlling purchase costs, and ensuring timely availability of materials for production.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day purchasing activities for the PWHT department.
• Source raw materials, electrical components, cables, heating elements, spares, and other engineering materials as required.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and vendors.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial terms.
• Review purchase requests, obtain quotations, compare prices, and release purchase orders.
• Coordinate with production, stores, accounts, and other departments to ensure timely material availability.
• Monitor supplier performance, material quality, delivery timelines, and pending orders.
• Control procurement costs while maintaining quality standards.
• Maintain purchase records, vendor databases, and MIS reports.
• Handle material shortages, delayed deliveries, and supplier-related issues.
• Guide the purchase team and improve procurement processes.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in purchase and procurement, preferably in manufacturing or engineering industries.
• Knowledge of electrical components, engineering materials, and industrial equipment is preferred.
• Good vendor management and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of purchase orders, quotations, inventory coordination, and supplier evaluation.
• Good communication, coordination, and decision-making skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel and purchase-related systems.

Qualification

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Production Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Experience

Relevant experience in purchase and procurement, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering company. Experience leading a purchase team will be an advantage.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
