• Negotiation Skills: Secure favorable terms (price, quantity, delivery) with suppliers.
• Analytical Skills: Needed to evaluate options, assess suppliers, and compare costs and prices effectively.
• Decision-Making: The ability to make informed and timely choices that benefit the organization.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication is crucial for negotiating and coordinating with suppliers and internal departments.
• Familiarity with Software: Proficiency in standard office software (like MS Excel) and specialized procurement or enterprise resource planning (ERP) software is important.
• Sourcing & Selection: Identify and choose products/materials, considering market needs, quality, and cost.
• Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, resolving issues like damages or delays.
• Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts, working with supply chain.

BA/B.Com/Diploma candidates having about 3-4 years experience in handling the purchase/procurement function.
