Qualifications & Experience At least 5 years’ experience in power system study projects, preferably in a consulting environment.Ability to conduct and review the following studies independently - power flow, short circuit, harmonics, protection coordination, unit protection, arc flash.Significant experience in RMS dynamic stability studies, particularly grid connection studies for renewables.Experience with ETAP, SKM PTW, PSSE, DigSilent PowerFactory, EMTP-RV, PSCAD, or similar software.Desirable to have skills in EMT studies - insulation coordination, transient recovery voltage.Consulting experience in power projects in Australia and UK is desirable.Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.Excellent mathematical skills applied in engineering calculations.Organizational skills and proactive approach in project management.Ability to lead, and provide technical solutions to problems with good influencing, motivating and delegating skills. Highly Regarded Skills Desirable to have understanding of Australian electricity market and renewable energy. Computational design, automation skills, and proficiency in Python scripting for power system studies. Experience in renewable energy projects (Solar, Wind, BESS). Why Arcadis? Role Objectives Engineering Excellence: To deliver power systems study projects meeting high quality standards and drive technical excellence in the team. Advanced Analysis: To bring engineering capabilities to static and dynamic power system studies. Role Accountabilities The main responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: Preparing and reviewing engineering deliverables including complex reports, proposals, presentations with the GBA Power Delivery Team.Conducting power system transient studies, including insulation coordination, switching transients, and motor starting.Conducting power flow, short circuit, reactive power, and power quality studies, including grid compliance studies for renewables.Taking personal responsibility for the preparation of detailed engineering documentation and leading the engineering effort for project including providing technical and performance oversight for members of the power team.To manage selected projects, project task/responsibilities as assigned, and/or design processes (or parts of projects) to meet agreed budget, quality and timeframe targets.To deliver fully documented designs to meet Client objectives and Arcadis quality system requirements.To develop the technical competency of direct reports/ junior team members and ensure application of relevant international standards and engineering knowledge in various projects. TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Apply engineering knowledge, techniques and tools complying with international design standards relevant to the assigned project.Prepare technical report for the appropriate project complying with codes and standards and delivering the design with high quality.Conduct internal review and quality checks of power system models and simulation results to ensure compliance with the project's requirements.Prepare and register all relevant documentation and ensure all documentation is accurate and in compliance with the Arcadis and customer requirements.Leading interdisciplinary coordination as required for the project.
