Role Overview

PRT Painting & Art Teacher

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

• Conduct engaging and age-appropriate art and painting classes for Grades 1 to 5.
  
• Introduce students to basic art concepts, techniques, colors, patterns, drawing, and craft.
  
• Plan and execute creative lesson plans aligned with school’s curriculum.
  
• Encourage creativity, imagination, and artistic expression in students.
  

Classroom Management

• Maintain a positive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment.
  
• Ensure proper use and care of art materials and resources.
  
• Manage student behavior effectively and ensure discipline in art periods.
  

Student Development & Assessment

• Observe and assess students’ progress, providing constructive feedback.
  
• Identify and support students with special artistic abilities or learning needs.
  
• Prepare displays of students’ artwork across school spaces.
  

Events & Activities

• Organize art exhibitions, competitions, and themed events across the school.
  
• Support school events by designing charts, props, backdrops, and creative material.
  
• Assist the art department in whole-school creative initiatives and celebrations.
  

Qualifications & Skills

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts (BFA) / Visual Arts / Painting OR equivalent certification in Art & Craft.
  
• B.Ed. preferred but not mandatory for strong artistic candidates.
  

Experience

• 1–3 years of experience teaching Art/Painting at a primary school level (preferred).
  
• Freshers with strong portfolios and passion for teaching may also apply.
  

Skills & Competencies

• Strong drawing, painting, sketching, craft, and creative design skills.
  
• Ability to work with different mediums (watercolors, crayons, poster colors, craft materials, etc.).
  
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  
• Innovative, patient, and child-centric teaching approach.
  
• Ability to collaborate with teachers and contribute to school events.
