The Electrical Technician/Associate position based in Kolkata requires a candidate with technical expertise in working at substations and utility sites. As part of the team responsible for sales and technical assessment of transformer-related instruments and control products, you will be involved in field-oriented activities, including regular visits to power substations in Kolkata, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Orissa. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting visits to substations and utility sites, performing technical assessments for products like WTI/OTI, Electrical Control Instruments & Meters, Protective Relays, and more. You will collaborate with on-site engineers to understand requirements, recommend suitable products, and provide technical insights to the sales team based on ground feedback. Reporting observations and identifying potential opportunities from site visits will also be a key aspect of your role. To be successful in this position, you should possess an ITI or Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field, along with at least 3-4 years of experience in substations, testing & commissioning, or transformer yard maintenance. Prior experience working with utilities or EPCs is advantageous, and a solid understanding of transformer auxiliary equipment and electrical instrumentation is essential. The role will require regular travel to various substation sites in and around Kolkata, necessitating effective communication of technical information with site personnel. This position offers part/full-time project-based engagement with compensation based on the scope of work and site visits.
