As a Business Development Manager for Environmental Services in the Texas Region at UES, you will play a crucial role in identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities that align with the company's strategic priorities. Your responsibilities will primarily focus on environmental consulting but will also include cross-functional opportunities in geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, sustainable infrastructure, and geophysical services. Reporting to the Business Development Director and the Senior VP Environmental Services in Texas, you will drive client acquisition, foster strategic partnerships, and expand the company's market presence across public and private sectors, starting in Texas and expanding into adjacent surrounding states. Collaboration with the BD Director, executive leadership, operational teams, and technical experts will be essential to build relationships, shape pursuits, and support long-term growth initiatives. You will lead strategic business development efforts across key markets, focusing on environmental engineering services while also including cross-functional BD efforts in various services. Your role will involve identifying and pursuing new client relationships and contract opportunities through proactive outreach, networking, and market research. Developing and executing client pursuit plans, scheduling and executing meetings with target clients, collaborating with regional and technical leaders, and representing the company at industry events are among your key responsibilities. Additionally, you will support pre-positioning efforts, maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities, support contract negotiations, and gather market intelligence to inform strategic planning and competitive positioning. Mentoring and coaching junior business development staff may also be required. To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field, along with 10+ years of progressive business or client development experience in the A/E/C or environmental consulting industry. A proven track record in building client relationships, understanding the sales cycle for professional services, and strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills are essential.
