Job Description of Analyst

Underwriting for the scope defined in the RFP

Correspond with Agents Brokers via email to collect and analyze insurance information that facilitates the risk assessment process and provides underwriting support

Document and communicate policy approvals or rejections to the underwriting team insurance agents supervisors and other stakeholders in a timely manner

Gather data from several sources including emails workflows third party sources MVR ISO loss run reports etc on new and renewal business for the underwriting decision process

Compile data and analytics for reports that can advise insurance policy guidelines and whether coverage should be provided

Reviews instructions from agent underwriter insured broker etc to understand determine what is needed to provide quotes issuances renewals endorsements Crits etc

Ensure that all applications for coverage are accurate and complete and any missing data to be furnished within the TAT

Enters information on quotes issuances renewals audits endorsements and or cancellations reinstatements based on rules and company procedures

Enters rate premium and or policy information into appropriate systems for policy updates issuance

Maintain accurate UpToDate records within underwriting software programs by verifying all documents for accuracy and completion to provide sound policy recommendations to prospective and existing customers

Required Skills and experience

Graduate with back and middle office experience in new business underwriting policy service renewals and claims preferable and not mandatory

Ability to enter data accurately and efficiently into a policy administration system Data entry involves a combination of skills such as attention to detail and knowledge of software applications work flows Policy systems such as Duck creek Guidewire MS office etc

Ability to identify and evaluate potential risks to an organization or individual through submission documents Use guidelines or SOPs provided by the insurance carrier to understand the risk appetite and highlight risks involved

Ability to utilize computerized systems for research tracking information gathering and or troubleshooting ie Excel Word programs legacy systems internal systems third party vendor delivered systems etc

Ability to communicate effectively with underwriters agents brokers etc and establish relationships acknowledge and understand different perspectives and work towards solutions that are beneficial to the team

 

Mandatory Skills :

Knowledge of submission documents, quotes, policy issuance etc

Good understanding of P&C products / lines of business

Written and Oral Communication Skills,

MS Office

Understanding of Policy Administration Systems in P&C insurance,
