To act in a senior technical capacity in producing WSP engineering related project drawings relating to Primary Engineering for Transmission & Distribution, Renewable (Onshore & Offshore wind/ Solar), BESS projects. This includes (but not limited to): Create detailed engineering drawings for Extra High Voltage (EHV) projects, covering both Air Insulated Substations (AIS) and Gas Insulated Substations (GIS), ranging from 11kV up to 400kV (with a particular emphasis on 132kV voltages and above) Preparation and development of EC&I deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams, loop drawings, cable block diagrams, plant layouts, cable routing, cable containment design and switchgear configurations using both 2D and 3D software packages; Develop darwings to support detailed engineering, such as Land Utilisation Plan, Elevations, Above and Below Grade Conduit layouts, Grounding layout & it’s connection details, Lighting and Lightning protection with respective details, Bill of Materials, CDM, MEWP layouts. Facilitate coordination of design activities across various departments, including Civil/Structural, Networks, and Transmission Line. Conduct design reviews, participate in virtual meetings, and collaborate closely with clients. Assist with preparing drawings and revising existing engineering drawings of basic components from specific sketches or layouts. Responsible for adhering to company and client drafting standards and procedures. Responsible for adhering to the drafting practices of selected discipline. Assist in drafting design and documentation for various projects. Coordinate with team members and monitor project schedules, ensuring submissions meet high-quality standards. Maintain compliance to CDM Regulations and all other legal and regulatory requirements associated with the nature of substation and electrical system design. Collaborate with WSP UK office on design activities. Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members. Have a minimum of five years and a maximum of ten years of experience in the field of Substation Transmission & Distribution, Renewable (Onshore & Offshore wind/ Solar), BESS projects. Experience on working in Raster image files. Preferably familiar with UK projects. Experience of working in a lead substation design role on National Grid Electricity Transmission projects (or other UK utilities like SSEN, SPEN etc.) in the UK will be an added advantage. Experience in Onshore wind, Offshore wind, Renewable (solar) and BESS projects is preferred. Familiarity with 3D tools (Revit) for Engineering design is desirable.
