Project Engineer MEP - Costing

As an MEP Estimating Engineer at vConstruct, a Pune based international construction technology company, your primary responsibility is to review design information, including drawings, specifications, and BIM, to quantify scopes related to HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Process Equipment, and Piping & Instrumentation for cost estimation, bid management, and production tracking purposes. You are expected to have a strong understanding and experience in building construction around MEP in various project types such as hospitals, commercial office buildings, hospitality, data centers, biopharmaceutical plants, life sciences, manufacturing, and higher education buildings. This role will be within the Costing cluster as a Project Engineer. Your key responsibilities will include: - Developing high-quality and accurate quantity estimates following CSI Uniformat and Masterformat coding using drawings, specifications, and models. - Developing quantity takeoffs for various trade packages and studying project documents for discrepancies. - Leveraging 3D models for quantification processes and developing 3D models from 2D drawings. - Preparing cost estimates, identifying design changes, and collaborating with estimators onsite. - Communicating effectively with project teams overseas, understanding new scopes of work, and maintaining relationships with onsite teams, customers, and the vConstruct team. Qualifications required for this role: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering with a specialization in Quantity Surveying. - Familiarity with US, Europe, and Indian construction documents and terminologies is preferred. - Minimum of 2 years of working experience in building construction with a focus on MEP scopes and quantification experience. - Knowledge of quantification software like Revit, Assemble, CostX, OST, Planswift, and estimating tools like Microsoft Excel is desired. - Strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, ability to learn independently, effective communication skills, and problem-solving abilities. vConstruct is dedicated to building better, smarter, and faster products by applying smarter processes for faster delivery.
