Role Accountabilities To deliver primary substation design projects working with Arcadis Australia Power Team meeting high quality standards and drive technical excellence in the team. To bring engineering capabilities to preliminary and detail design of high voltage primary electrical plant including substations, power generating stations, windfarms and solar farms. Preparing and reviewing engineering deliverables including complex reports, proposals, presentations, and drawing packages with the Brisbane Power Team. HV transmission and distribution substations primary electrical design: layout design, specification of plant, coordination of civil design. Earthing system analysis and design. Taking personal responsibility for the preparation of detailed engineering documentation and leading the engineering effort for project including providing technical and performance oversight for members of the power team. Prepare document and drawing package for the appropriate project design submission stage complying with codes and standards and delivering the design with high quality. Conduct internal review and quality checks of engineering drawings and design calculations to ensure compliance with the project's requirements. Proactively manage selected projects (or components of projects), take responsibility for resource allocation, manage subcontractors, manage the production of analysis and design (including drawings and reports), ensure the integrity of the overall design (in collaboration with other design disciplines), quality assurance and client feedback. Identify opportunities and driving implementation of re-engineering strategies to maximise the profitability of design components. Pursuing new opportunities, identifying, and documenting scope, schedule, budget and exclusions. Qualifications & Experience At least 20 years experience in substation primary design, preferably in a consulting environment. Experience in the production of CAD documentation to Australian Utility Standards and other international design standards. The ability to develop cable thermal rating studies and design using CYMCAP. The ability to develop complex earthing and induction models in CDEGS earthing system software. The ability to develop maintenance strategies and procedures, commissioning plans and documentation

Oversee the designs of the project Coordinate Architecture, structural, facade, Interiors, landscape works and other design disciplines with regard to the planning and design specifically with regard to the MEPF aspect of designs. Prepare estimates where required, interpret plans and inspect construction site for conformity to design. Assist with preparation of coordination drawings as may be required to assist with site works along with the concerned Consultant / Contractor. Ensure compliance with Principal Architects, Interior Designers and MEPF Consultants along with design inputs from other Consultants and their design intents. Coordinate with consultants to review changes and value additions in design. Front end design coordination meetings with various Consultants and Owners to review, document and track design, tenders and execution related documents and works respectively. Review pre-tender, tender and contract documentation along with supporting documents for inclusion of all aspects of design and work methodologies. Check, verify and approve or reject as may be the case MIR, installation and construction methodologies. Coordinate with the respective consultants to get the requisite design available for tendering, contracting and construction and for Contractors during construction. Review construction carried out and approve / reject work based on compliance requirement. Coordinate with Contractor and Consultants for proper documentation and ensuring work methodologies followed at site are in order. Review and ensure green building documentations are in place. Checks and reviews schematic design, design development and coordinated construction documents and produce the same along with the Main Contractor (Main Contractor prepares the coordination drawings) Review work of consultants for coordination purposes. Maintains project documents and drawings current Shall be able to work effortlessly on CAD to review, correct, and redesign where necessary Coordinate and support internal team Assist with construction quality assurance and compliance to design specifications Assist in project close-out efforts and de-snagging Skilled at data management, maintaining records, and tracking project status Should be proactive and have a hands-on approach on supporting the project through various stages of design and construction Accurate representation of the best interests of the overall project is a major aspect of the coordinator's duties.
