Project Assistant - Protein Engineering

Job Description: As a Project Assistant at Mahindra University, Hyderabad, India in the Centre for Life Sciences, you will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research funded by the Prime Minister Early Career Research Grant from ANRF, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. Your primary role will involve conducting wet lab experiments for the recombinant production of nanobodies and their protein engineering. Additionally, you will be responsible for performing biochemical assays such as ELISA and SPR, cell culture assays, and participating in the determination of protein structures using X-ray crystallography. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct wet lab experiments for recombinant production of nanobodies - Perform protein engineering - Carry out biochemical assays including ELISA and SPR - Conduct cell culture assays - Participate in the determination of protein structures using X-ray crystallography Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in science or a 3-year diploma in Engineering and Technology - Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in areas such as Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Immunology, Animal sciences, or any other branch of life sciences - Students completing their Master's degree by the academic year 2024-25 are encouraged to apply In this role, you will have the opportunity to publish research papers, file patents, engage in translational research of industrial importance, and register in the PhD program at Mahindra University. The position offers a monthly salary of Rs. 27,000 and an initial tenure of 1 year, extendable based on satisfactory performance.
