As an Industrial Control Application or Automation Engineer, you have an exciting opportunity at Emerson. In the role of Engineer Product Validation, you will be pivotal in validating the functionality and performance of next-generation automation controller product lines. This position offers the chance to collaborate with a dynamic R&D team, contributing to the development of high-quality products that establish industry standards. Your responsibilities in this role include utilizing your experience in industrial automation control systems to validate next-gen Automation Controller and IO modules. Working in small, self-motivated teams with the Product Owner, you will derive requirements for validation and verification plans. It will be essential to participate in all phases of system test development, from product definition to production release, and to design efficient Test Systems and Automated Test Fixtures to ensure comprehensive test coverage. You will be expected to showcase your expertise in PLC programming languages such as Ladder, FBD, SFC, and scripting, as well as demonstrate proficiency in Ethernet-based Industrial protocols like MODBUS TCP, PROFINET IO, EtherCAT, IEC61850, DNP3, IEC104, among others. Additionally, you will need to develop automation scripts for system-level tests and deliver technical presentations on architecture, design, and technical risks. The ideal candidate for this role should hold a Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution and possess 3-5 years of experience in Industrial automation and related products like Programmable controllers - PLCs, DCS, I/O modules. Proficiency in Industrial Communication protocols like MODBUS TCP, PROFINET, ETHERCAT, IEC61850 Client and Server, IEC104 Client/Server, DNP3, HMI/SCADA, and programming skills using scripting languages like Python are required. Basic experience with programming languages like C#, C++ used for Test Automation purposes is also preferred.
