Production Technician (Fiber Optic)

As a Production Technician (Fiber Optic) at our company, you will be a crucial part of our dynamic team, responsible for handling fiber optic cables and ensuring their proper assembly, termination, testing, and packaging. Your role will involve recognizing discrepancies in components, assembling cable connectors, troubleshooting problems, and pursuing continuous improvement in our processes. Key Responsibilities: - Handle fiber optics cables, including stripping, cleaning, epoxy bonding, polishing, crimping, testing, labeling, and packing. - Recognize cosmetic and functional discrepancies on components and cable assemblies. - Assemble cable connectors and fiber cable according to work instructions. - Insert cable in plastic tubing or inject plastic sealant around terminals. - Mark identifying data on completed harness and packing. - Use testing equipment to troubleshoot problems and resolve them. - Pursue continuous improvement through training and process enhancement. Qualifications Required: - +2 Science / ITI / Diploma - 2-3 years of experience working in a fiber optic assembly manufacturing environment. - Knowledge of all types of fiber optics cables and fiber termination connectors. - Familiarity with optical manufacturing principles such as cable termination to various single fiber and multi-fiber optical termini, and test methods for single-mode and multi-mode optical fiber. - Steady hands and good dexterity skills for working with small component parts. - Ability to organize, multitask, prioritize, work under pressure, and manage time effectively. - Computer literate for simple inspection and data entry. - Positive attitude and team player. - Willingness to relocate to Trivandrum. This is a full-time, permanent position with day shift hours and a performance bonus. The ability to commute/relocate to Kavalayoor, Attingal, Thiruvananthapuram - 695144, Kerala, is preferred.
