Job Description

The job holder in this position will be responsible for conducting daily factory in-line and final furniture inspections at the assigned factory location. The scope of responsibility encompasses the entire process from chemical treatment to shipment, including PPM & Pilot Run. Additionally, the individual will be required to perform in-line furniture tests to ensure proper quality control and verification by vendors" production and QA teams. The primary duties and responsibilities include: - Performing daily Process Spot Audits in the Delhi/NCR region - Conducting daily in-line and final inspections following WSI procedures & protocol - Carrying out required product tests in accordance with WSI procedures & protocol - Providing daily quality control reports with accurate data - Maintaining and handling assigned testing & inspection tools and equipment - Ensuring proper care of MCPs & MCSs provided for inspection reference - Supporting data analysis and process improvements as directed by higher management - Keeping the reporting manager informed of any potential quality or delivery issues - Validating CAPA and confirming implementation In addition to the QA responsibilities, the individual is expected to: - Establish technical and business rapport with vendors" production team and staff - Understand QA and manufacturing processes within the factory - Develop problem-solving skills for production quality issues - Acquire knowledge of major wood species, general glue specifications, board requirements, and MC controls - Learn to perform WSI ISTA in-house testing - Participate in QC training programs to enhance furniture knowledge - Be available to work longer hours on short notice for special occasions Qualifications and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Optional: wood science/engineering or equivalent) - 3-4 years of work experience in the woodworking/furniture industry - Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time Skills Required: - Understanding of furniture quality control processes and systems - Knowledge of basic furniture manufacturing processes - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including skills in AutoCAD - Proficiency in handling testing and inspection tools - Familiarity with fundamental finishing issues and root causes - Computer literate with proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook email - Strong report writing and communication skills in English - Self-starter with a positive attitude and good character About the Company: Williams-Sonoma India Pvt.
