The Associate QA Executive at House of Spices is responsible for performing quality assurance duties at a professional level and collaborating closely with the QA, Purchase, Supply Chain, and other staff members to support designated geographic regions. Key Responsibilities: Perform and accurately document quality checks on products and regulatory checks in accordance with company programs and USFDA regulations. Compile and maintain inspection reports and records. Conduct product sampling and inspection using standard methods and procedures, including sensory evaluation as needed. Record, manage, and handle samples in the lab as required. Support the FSQA Manager/Executive in monitoring processes, analyzing data, and driving continuous improvement to minimize food safety risks. Assist in the development, implementation, auditing, and maintenance of the Food Safety and Quality System to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Preferred candidates should have experience in Spices, Commodities (Flour, Rice, Dals), Frozen RTE, Frozen Vegetables, and RTE Snacks. Conduct routine and non-routine analysis of samples, operate and maintain lab instruments, and ensure proper record-keeping of test results. Perform tests such as moisture, ash content, oil content, FFA & PV, pH, Brix, Acidity, and other relevant tests following specifications or standards. Prepare and standardize reagents and chemical solutions, adhere to good laboratory practices, hygiene, and safety protocols, and calibrate lab instruments. Occasional travel may be required for this role. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in food science/food technology or equivalent field. Knowledge of lab techniques for analyzing various food products. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong organoleptic senses for product and sensory evaluation. Preferred Qualifications: Understanding of lab techniques and prior training in fundamental quality assurance technology. Basic knowledge of Quality Assurance, GFSI, Regulatory standards (US FDA), FSMA, and other regulatory requirements. Have a calendar in place to detail out target vs ach of all week / month / annual milestones. Profile contractors in FY23-24. Contractor data tracker to be handy at all times for capturing the market intelligence gathered by team. Painter & Contractor Partnering - Engagement & Developing Relationship - Regular interaction and engagement to be planned with the opinion leaders in the contractor fraternity. This should be done with a motive of developing strong relationships, driving business, getting market intelligence & making them spokesperson for brand ABG. Have a detailed plan / approach in place to be regularly discussed with ZSM. Launch Preparedness Launch Preparedness - Product Sampling - Active involvement in the sampling activity. Have a structure in place to conduct sampling, capture the activity and share timely feedback with the concerned team. Launch Preparedness -Loyalty App Launch - Responsible for a successful launch of Loyalty App for the contractors. Coordinate with central team to come up with a strong plan for contractor enrolment in the app. Plan & execute activations for the launch of app in small and big markets. Academy Space Academy Space - Inception & Operations - Shortlist & finalize location for the academy by completing all the commercial requirements. - Coordinate with central team for the complete designing of the academy. Design a strong holistic plan for launch of academy. Identify the training needs of the internal and external stakeholders to come up with a training calendars, database of trainees, training modules & space utilization plans. Academy Space - Product Trials - Extend strong support for product trials by proving the necessary and timely inputs. This should be supported with content creation for the new products. Team Management Team Management - Recruitment, Onboarding & Development - Ensure timely recruitment and onboarding of all sanctioned positions. Conduct regular field visits to manage the non city markets with an intent of driving the team with the group objective. Have weekly & monthly discussions/ reviews with team. Share necessary insights with ZSMs and central team. Have a calendar in place to detail out the projects and timelines to your team. Cross functional integration Cross functional integration - QC Audits - Ensure on-time QC Audit at 100% sites in strong coordination with PS Team. This should be done with the prime motive of maintaining Unit NPS at decided % Cross functional integration - Integration - Strong coordination required with field and central teams required at all times. Have joint market visits at least once a month to develop strong insights for driving painter/contractor fraternity and utilization of academy. Responsibilities Candidate should have knowledge of GLR Reactor, SS Reactor, Simple distillation, Fractional Distillation , Vaccum Distillation. Calibration of pH, conductivity and weighing instruments in production. Monitoring and control of specific production operations, Product handling, packaging, despatch and product identification. Monitoring and maintenance of raw material / Product inventory in co-ordination with seniors. Responsible for dispensing of Raw Material storage/ in process activities/ inspection/ packing and storage of Finished product. To perform equipment cleaning. In-process product sampling, inspection and storage. Data entry in Quality records. Adherence to Good manufacturing practices. Reporting of non-conformities and adherence to the corrective / preventive actions in specific areas of operation. Co-ordination with QA for line clearance during product change over. Desired profile of the candidate: Education: BSc Organic or Inorganic Chemistry / MSc Organic or Inorganic Chemistry.
