Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Product Manager with a strong technical background in cosmetics to lead the development of innovative formulations and data-driven insights within our R&D division. The candidate will act as the bridge between research, data analytics, product development, and market needsensuring that all new products are scientifically sound, compliant, and consumer-centric.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Product Development & R&D Management
Lead the end-to-end product development process, from concept to commercialization, in alignment with brand strategy and scientific innovation goals.
Collaborate closely with formulation team and chemists to define and test product specifications.
Translate consumer insights and market trends into product opportunities grounded in technical feasibility.
Evaluate raw materials, actives, and formulations for performance, stability, and safety.
Oversee pilot trials and manage technical documentation for all ongoing R&D projects.
2. Data & Technical Analysis
Develop and manage data frameworks to capture, analyze, and interpret product performance and consumer feedback.
Leverage data-driven insights to optimize formulations and improve development efficiency.
Implement digital tools and R&D databases for project tracking, formulation data, and ingredient performance.
Collaborate with data scientists to design models predicting product efficacy, sensory attributes, or stability outcomes.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with marketing, regulatory, and supply chain teams to ensure timely product launches that meet technical, compliance, and commercial requirements.
Serve as the technical liaison between R&D, manufacturing, and marketing.
Present scientific and technical data in a clear, strategic manner to stakeholders and leadership teams.
4. Compliance & Quality
Ensure all R&D activities comply with cosmetic regulations and company quality standards (e.g., ISO, GMP).
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global cosmetic regulations, raw material safety, and sustainability trends.
Qualifications:
Education:
Masters degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related technical discipline.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in product development, R&D, or technical project management in the cosmetics or personal care industry.
Proven experience working with data systems or digital R&D tools (e.g., formulation databases, product lifecycle management systems, AI-based analysis).
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including marketing, regulatory, and manufacturing.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of cosmetic formulation science, raw material functionality, and stability testing.
Familiarity with data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Python, or SQL) or R&D data management platforms.
Excellent project management, documentation, and presentation skills.
Soft Skills:
Strategic thinker with analytical mindset and problem-solving approach.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information for non-technical stakeholders.
