Product and Development Manager

Job Description

Product Formulation & Development: Lead the development of new pet food products, with a strong focus on dog and cat nutrition. Optimize recipes for various life stages and ensure they meet AAFCO nutritional standards. Research & Development: Conduct in-depth research on pet nutrition trends, ingredient benefits, and novel processing methods. Stay updated with advancements in extrusion technologies and apply innovative approaches to improve product formulation. Analyze and interpret research data to guide product development and improve nutritional value. Cross-functional Collaboration: Support the Marketing and Sales teams with technical insights, educational literature, and research-backed content. Help in developing technical documents to be used as marketing and educational materials. Provide training to internal teams on the scientific basis of Hunger Tail products and their benefits. Quality & Compliance: Ensure all products comply with regulatory standards and adhere to Hunger Tails commitment to quality and safety. Work with QC and Procurement teams to select high-quality, sustainable ingredients for all formulations. Preferred candidate profile Qualifications & Skills: Masters in animal nutrition, Veterinary Science, B.V.Sc, M.V.Sc or related fields. Minimum of 1+ years of experience within the pet care, pet services or pet nutrition industry. Good knowledge of dog and cat nutrition, especially regarding dietary needs for different life stages. Proven experience with pet food extrusion processes and an understanding of how extrusion impacts nutritional content and product quality. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as AAFCO. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data to drive product innovation.
