Job Description

Position Title:

Key Responsibilities

1. Material Efficiency Controlling

  • Target Setting & Breakdown:

    Define material efficiency targets and break them down to the buyer/supplier level. Use data analytics to optimize target allocation based on historical performance.
  • Performance Monitoring & Steering:

    Monitor procurement results and material efficiency. Provide weekly Plan vs. Actual updates, leveraging analytics to drive corrective actions through dashboards and digital tools.

  • Comet vs. EBIT Gap Analysis:

    Review and reconcile gaps between Procurement systems and Finance systems and closely work with Procurement team to define steps for minimizing the gaps effectively.
  • Approve One-Time Payments (OTP) to suppliers, ensuring alignment with financial guidelines and controls.
  • Document and manage risk mapping, ensuring all potential risks are identified and aligned with planning timelines and Actual reporting timelines.
  • Trend Analysis:

    Analyze historical trends in material costs, procurement patterns, and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities and areas for efficiency improvement.
  • Cost-Saving Initiatives:

    Work closely with the procurement team to provide actionable insights for negotiation strategies, targeting price reductions, and cost optimization opportunities
  • Market Analysis:

    Track market trends and external cost drivers such as raw material prices, currency fluctuations, and industry benchmarks to provide procurement teams with data-backed negotiation levers.
  • Opportunity Identification:

    Identify high-cost areas, unfavorable terms, or inefficiencies in procurement processes, and propose corrective measures to enhance overall material cost efficiency.
  • Agreement Monitoring:

    Regularly review and monitor supplier agreements to ensure compliance with terms and identify deviations or areas for renegotiation.

2. Financial Supplier Risk Management (FSRM)

  • Conduct in-depth financial analyses of supplier data, incorporating strategic and operational parameters. Utilize predictive analytics to identify potential financial risks and trends for proactive risk management.
  • Coordinate for Supplier Risk Board by presenting insights from data-driven analyses and providing early warning signals to management.
  • Review and approve Supplier Accommodation Payments (SAP), ensuring decisions are based on robust financial and analytical insights.

3. MIS Reporting

  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports and dashboards for management reporting of material costs and material efficiency.
  • Generate monthly actual reports for material costs, part price movement analysis, and cost measure analysis.
  • Analyze material efficiency trends and provide regular insights for deviations by examining cost measures and initiatives. Collaborate with business stakeholders to steer corrective actions.
  • Identify areas to automate and optimize time spent for recurring reports.

4. Data Management

  • Maintain accurate data inputs into systems such as COMET, MACOR, PUMA and extract reports to generate material cost analyses.
  • Consolidate data from multiple systems and generate Power BI reports to drive insights, collaborate with Buyers in Procurement team and to simplify reporting.
  • Provide structured data to senior analysts for integrated reporting purposes.
  • Reconcile data across multiple systems to ensure accuracy in reporting material costs.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Engineering is preferred, with strong knowledge of Finance or related disciplines.
    • Professional certifications like CIMA, ICMAI, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Experience:

    Minimum 8–14 years of experience in procurement controlling, financial analysis, or a related domain.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, ICM).
    • Strong command of data analytics, dashboard tools, and digital reporting solutions.
    • Familiarity with predictive analytics and financial modeling techniques.
  • Business Skills:

    • Ability to handle conflict management effectively, especially in high-pressure scenarios.
    • Strong business partnering capabilities to collaborate with the Procurement team and steer business decisions.
    • Proven experience in stakeholder management and influencing cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives.
    • Data-driven decision-making and attention to detail.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
    • High levels of adaptability and resilience in a dynamic business environment.
