Job Description: Senior Accountant The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the financial operations of the organization. This position requires a highly skilled and experienced individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance. The Senior Accountant will work closely with management to ensure accurate financial reporting, efficient budgeting, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities: 1. Financial Reporting and Analysis: • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. • Provide detailed financial insights and recommendations to management. • Monitor key financial metrics and trends to support decision-making. 2. General Accounting Duties: • Oversee the daily accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accounts payable/receivable. • Ensure accurate and timely closing of books at month-end and year-end. • Maintain and update the general ledger. 3. Budgeting and Forecasting: • Collaborate with management to prepare budgets and financial forecasts. • Track and report on budget performance, highlighting variances and proposing corrective actions. 4. Tax Compliance and Regulatory Filings: • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations. • Manage GST, TDS, and other statutory filings and payments. • Liaise with external auditors and tax consultants for audits and assessments. 5. Internal Controls and Compliance: • Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal financial controls. • Ensure adherence to accounting standards and company policies. • Conduct periodic reviews to identify and mitigate financial risks. 6. Team Leadership and Training: • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff. • Provide training and guidance to ensure team efficiency and skill development. • Review and approve the work of team members to maintain accuracy and quality. 7. Process Improvement: • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations. • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to adapt practices accordingly. 8. Stakeholder Communication: • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure financial alignment. • Provide financial data and insights to management and stakeholders as required. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CA certification is a plus). • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles. • Strong knowledge of Tally, ERP systems, and advanced proficiency in Excel. • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. • High attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
