Principal Thermal Design Engineer

As the Principal Thermal Design Engineer at Voltanova, you will play a crucial role in leading the design and optimization of high-temperature thermal storage systems. Your primary focus will be on developing storage systems capable of handling extreme heat, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring scalability. In this position, you will collaborate closely with the engineering team to design cost-effective and scalable thermal storage solutions while leveraging your expertise in thermal engineering, energy systems design, and working with high-temperature materials and energy transfer mechanisms. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing thermal energy storage systems for high-temperature applications, creating thermal models and simulations to enhance heat retention and energy conversion efficiency, integrating heating mechanisms for optimal energy transfer, and collaborating with R&D and manufacturing teams to prototype and validate designs. Additionally, you will conduct parametric studies, benchmark performance, ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations, and contribute to patent development for proprietary designs. To excel in this role, you should hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Energy Systems, or related fields, along with at least 6 years of experience in designing thermal energy storage systems or similar high-temperature applications. Your strong knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and materials science in high-temperature environments, coupled with hands-on experience in thermal simulation software and modeling tools, will be essential.
