Principal Software Engineer (Python Developer)

You are on an exciting journey with our client, and they are looking for a Principal Software Engineer - (Python Developer) to join their team. This role offers you the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry. You will be working on multiple areas of the FIC Markets Team, including Intraday/End-of-day market capture, Python libraries, Excel UI, and operational tools. Your contribution to the multi-year market data strategy program and IT transformation will be crucial for the Markets team. Working closely with quants, front office, and other IT/corporate teams, you will implement practical solutions and contribute to both tactical and strategic programs. Your responsibilities will also include contributing to system architecture and solution design while adhering to best practices in technology. Additionally, you will provide second-line support for both system and business problems. The required skills for this role include proficiency in Python, Front Office Financial markets knowledge, and strong problem-solving abilities. Desirable skills include Java, C#/.NET, Docker, SQL, Excel/VBA, exposure to systems used for capturing/publishing/managing market data, and technologies used for communicating data. Familiarity with live market data systems and market data concepts is a plus. Experience with development tools such as JIRA, Git, Jenkins, Ansible, etc., is also beneficial. To excel in this role, you should have a high level of attention to detail, a positive can-do attitude, and a strong focus on producing work of the highest standard. Excellent communication skills are essential as you will be interacting with diverse functions and levels globally.
